Gull watching

Gull watching

Many gulls come to sea of Ariake from autumn to spring for passing the winter.
The gulls wait for food from passengers at Taira port and Nagasu port. Raise your hands, and they all start to fly toward you at once.
These days they receive food directly in order to take it hastily. The shop in the ship sells the preservative-free food “Kamomepan” (bread for gulls).

Finless porpoise watching

Finless porpoise watching

The finless porpoises (small dolphin) live in the sea of Ariake.
If the sea is calm without wind and waves, you can watch them around Taira port and Nagasu port, but you cannot always do.
